The all-electric BMW i4 has been unveiled and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022.
After revealing details about the iX xDrive50 electric SUV, BMW has unveiled the i4, a four-door electric coupe that joins the roster of new cars designed for the future.
The exterior design of the new BMW i4 is based on the brand's sporty coupe aesthetic: long lines, frameless windows and short reliefs give it a fluid feel. Announced yesterday, this model features four doors that offer comfort despite its aggressive exterior, marked by the iconic kidney-shaped grille. The function of this grill is almost decorative due to the small cooling requirement of electric vehicles. This feature extends to the front bumper vents, which have also been reduced in size.
Its slim and minimalist headlights feature LEDs and are distinct from the taillights, which are L-shaped to accentuate the look of the rear bumper, aided by the lack of an exhaust system and used to improve aerodynamics. The side air intakes complete its sporty look and play their part in cooling the integrated braking system, which is very precise both at high speeds and in adverse conditions.
, the interior of the BMW i4 is fully digital and features a curved screen that occupies almost the entire dashboard behind the steering wheel, displaying all information related to the car and its performance. This screen also allows you to control entertainment features that are fully tailored to your individual lighting environment, as well as a 10-speaker audio system and an amplifier. This audio system can be upgraded to a 16-speaker system with a digital amplifier.
Equipped with comfortable sports seats, the BMW i4 also provides independent climate control in the driver's seat, front passenger seat and rear seats. Buyers will be able to choose between two versions: the i4 eDrive40 with 335 horsepower, rear-wheel drive and 300 miles of range, or the i4 M50 with 536 horsepower, all-wheel drive and 245 miles of range. Like the recent iX xDrive50 electric SUV, it is scheduled to hit the US market in the first quarter of 2022.
