2019 Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Collection Unveiled

The Zenith Collection completes the first generation Rolls-Royce Ghost limousine, which debuted in September 2009.

Rolls-Royce marked the end of production of the first generation Ghost limousine with a special edition of the Zenith Collection, which the British brand says lives up to its nameplate as the pinnacle of personal luxury.

And with only 50 Ghost Zeniths in stock, wealthy buyers should be able to find them quickly. However, it is not yet known whether any examples will be sent to Australia, and a Rolls-Royce spokesman confirmed that none of them will be purchased locally yet.

Ghost Zenith takes inspiration from the 200EX concept that was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009. It predated the serial production of the Ghost, and the two models were almost exact copies of each other.

According to the British brand, the most important reference to the 200EX in Ghost Zenith is an ingot taken from the former's Spirit of Ecstasy, melted down and inserted into the latter's center console as part of a plaque engraved with the image of the model's three keys. lines.

Meanwhile, the name of the collection is engraved on Spirit of Ecstasy's own and Ghost Zenith watch.

The connection to the 200EX goes even further with what Rolls-Royce says is "intricate engraving" that is "perpetuated" with "abstraction-enhanced blueprint-inspired artwork" also located on the Ghost Zenith's center console, albeit partially. This part is actually divided into 50 separate parts - one for each instance in the collection.

Ghost Zenith is also recognizable by its illuminated door pockets with ambient light emitted through perforated two-tone leather, which the British brand says "enhances the architectural elegance" of the interior.

The luxury is also enhanced by "complex marquetry," which Rolls-Royce says can be made from wood, technical fiber, or piano veneer, as well as the transitions between the Ghost Zenith's two rows of seats.

2019 Rolls-Royce Ghost Zenith Collection Unveiled Inside is the famous headliner Rolls-Royce Starlight, this time using a unique "shooting star" configuration.

The embroidery on the rear benches nods to the original Silver Ghost from 1907, while the British brand has provided the long-wheelbase Ghost Zeniths with headlining that "purposefully protrudes forward into the Spirit of Ecstasy's balanced silhouette."

The latter also uses the famous Rolls-Royce Starlight headliner, which this time uses a unique "shooting star" configuration with over 1340 individually mapped and hand-woven fiber optic lights that light up randomly.

A special two-tone paint finish with a glossy finish is standard. Customers can choose between Iguazu Blue and Andalusian White, Premiere Silver with Arctic White, or Bohemian Red with Black Diamond. However, the Silver Satin hood shared with the 200EX is optional.

While no upgrades have been made to the Ghost's 6.6-liter V12, 420kW and 780Nm of torque will probably do the job.

“The Ghost Zenith Collection is a fully forward-looking exploration of the unique features that have elevated the Ghost to the status of the most progressive super-luxury sedan ever conceived,” said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Thorsten Müller-Oetvoes.

“This unique collection provides brand patrons with the rare opportunity to own a vehicle that is truly reminiscent of our times. The Ghost is the most successful Rolls-Royce ever made, and the Zenith collection marks an important milestone in our modern history.”

Rolls-Royce describes the rider-passenger-focused Ghost as its most successful model, attracting a younger customer base, which has helped bring the average age of its owners down to around 43.

This is not the first time the British brand has offered the Zenith collection. The Phantom VII was also celebrated at the end of its production run in 2016, creating a "modern legend" in the process.
