Warned and insured? Only with a power bank!

Mobile devices accompany us every day - thanks to smartphones and tablets, wherever we are, we can instantly send e-mail, read books, listen to music, take pictures or watch various multimedia. We surf the Internet, use GPS navigation, write text messages and talk - this is our convenient “control center of the world”, which gives us a feeling of security, control and constant contact. All this until the battery dies...

Powerbank - useful in an emergency

How many times have we panicked at the sight of a single red warning bar appearing on our smartphone's battery icon? Or another sign that our smartphone will soon be switched off? It’s just that when we were waiting for an important phone call, we needed the Internet, we traveled by public transport, or we were in a place where it was impossible to recharge the phone (if at all we could carry a charger with us). In the event of an unexpected "energy crisis" of our mobile device, only a powerbank can save us - a portable pocket battery with an energy reserve.

It is currently available on the market several thousand models of power banks, ranging from gadgets from unknown brands, tempting with huge (though only declared by the manufacturer) power and low price, to advanced devices from well-known companies for several hundred zlotys. So, what should be considered when considering buying a power bank? What parameters should be taken into account?

First of all, let's calculate how much additional power we need and what mobile devices we are going to "keep" alive. Do we want to protect ourselves only in the event of a battery discharge in a smartphone, the operation of which will last for several tens of minutes? Or are we going on a trip of a few hours or a trip where we won't have access to electricity for a few days? Will we use a smartphone or tablet extensively, playing media and connecting to the Internet, or will we only need the basic functions of these devices?

What to look for when choosing a power bank?

The basic parameter of each external battery is its capacity in milliamp-hours (mAh) - this determines which mobile device we can charge, how quickly and for how long we have stored energy. The smallest power banks have a capacity of 2000 mAh and are sufficient to power a standard smartphone.

The second element that we should pay attention to when choosing the ideal model is the current strength, measured in amperes (A), which determines how quickly our power bank charges our mobile device. Here we usually have two options: 1 A and 2 A. The more amps, the faster the charging takes place and the larger the device can be efficiently energized. Although most phones and smartphones charge at 1A, this may not be enough for some tablets. You should also remember that the more amps, the shorter the battery life, which heats up much more and is used up faster at higher currents. In addition, some older phone models with a smaller built-in battery capacity may react with blocking when trying to connect a 2A power bank. Therefore, it is safer to choose a model with a 1A output current for basic phone charging.

In this category, the recommended solution is Xiaomi's 5000 mAh pocket backup battery, which will allow you to charge your phone, iPod or graphics camera once.

If we want our power bank to charge instantly - almost twice as fast as using a standard charger - we can buy the Silicon Power S105, 10000 mAh with USB and Lightning connectors, suitable for Apple products.

Smaller power banks - up to 5000 mAh - are designed for smartphones, graphics cameras and portable music players. If necessary, they are able to maintain the health of the tablet, but for larger mobile devices it is better to purchase a slightly larger power bank. such a model is, for example, Xiaomi 2 MI 20000 mAh, which, in addition to its high capacity, also guarantees ultra-fast charging thanks to its 3.6A current – so it is an excellent choice for demanding people who need immediate help.

Or maybe a laptop power bank?

Only power banks with a minimum capacity of 20000 30 mAh are suitable for charging a laptop. These options are available for the Baseus X30000 Mini JA mobile charger, 3.0 3.0 mAh, which has two modern charging standards, QuickCharge 5 and PowerDelivery XNUMX built-in, and has as many as XNUMX built-in ports, including Lightning and USB-C. and is made of durable synthetic material.

We add that the recommended power banks are equipped with fuses to prevent short circuits and overloads, and an additional advantage - in addition to their small size and attractive design - will undoubtedly be additional accessories and adapters that allow you to configure the battery for charging various mobile devices.

Knowing what to look for when choosing a portable charger, you will certainly choose something suitable for your requirements and needs.
