Composition and Properties
The manufacturer - the Russian company "Astrohim" - reports the presence of the following components in the rust converter Astrohim Antiruster:
- orthophosphoric acid.
- complexing agent.
- corrosion inhibitor.
- antifoam component.
- Anticoagulants.
Due to the optimal combination of these substances in the final product, the drying time of the surface before priming is significantly reduced. This allows you to use this composition not only for its intended purpose, but also before painting bulk surfaces that will be under the constant influence of changing temperature and humidity.
The use of non-deficient components provides the Astrohim rust converter with a fairly low price combined with good efficiency. The reviews note (as a drawback) only that the composition is proposed to be applied with a brush, and this, according to some consumers, increases the uneven thickness of the coating. Therefore, after vigorous shaking of the container, the composition is poured in portions into another, with a spray bottle, and then used as a spray.
However, fans of spray irrigation may well use an imported product - SONAX rust converter and cleaner manufactured by FlugrostEntferner (Germany).
Instructions
The manufacturer - the company "Astrohim" recommends the following sequence of work with the rust converter in question:
- Preparation of the surface for processing, which includes a thorough cleaning of dirt and dust, as well as brushing rust spots with a hard metal brush.
- Drying and degreasing the surface.
- Vigorous shaking of the vial with the composition, which then follows, using a brush, evenly distribute over the area to be treated.
- Allow the layer to dry completely, then repeat the operation.
- After holding for 20 minutes, the composition is washed off with water.
- Visual verification of the effectiveness of the effect of the rust converter Astrohim; in the event of the presence of individual rust spots, the operation should be repeated, although such defects in the action of the composition are not mentioned in user reviews.
- If further processing involves painting the surface, then the converter is kept on it (at an ambient temperature of at least 15°C) at least a day.
Normative data on the consumption of the composition - no more than 250 ... 320 g / m2.
The shelf life of the product is limited - no more than 3 years.
From the basic safety rules, we note the need to work either in a well-ventilated area or in the open air, since the composition is volatile and contains an aggressive chemical. Processing must be carried out, well protecting the eyes and skin from exposure to the reagent.
Long-term storage of Astrohim rust converter is allowed only in a room whose temperature is not lower than +5 ... + 10 ° С, since the composition loses its properties when it freezes.
