On Friday July 17th, Hyundai released the Blue Link / BlueLink / Bluelink app for download in Poland (the manufacturer uses a different spelling), allowing you to connect to a Hyundai vehicle from your smartphone. The first model that can be controlled from a mobile app is the Hyundai Kona Electric (2020).

The BlueLink interface will be recognized by anyone who has had the opportunity to use the Uvo software (actually: UVO / Uvo Connect) supplied with Kia models. Both apps allow you to:

  • checking trip logs, distance traveled and average speed with a breakdown by day and route,
  • vehicle search (second screen from the left),
  • checking the battery charge level and predicted range (blue circle on the map),
  • turning the air conditioning on or off,
  • lock or unlock the vehicle,
  • end or start charging.

The active BlueLink service also allows you to download the weather forecast for your current location and transmits traffic conditions (traffic jams, closed areas) to navigation. With this information, you can optimize your route to your destination.

A smartphone with BlueLink will inform us about potentially interesting events, such as unlocking locks. By default, the application launches in English, but you can switch it to Polish by selecting the menu (three horizontal lines in the upper left corner of the interface) and going to Settings.

In our reader's car the service is provided free of charge for five years... This period may vary depending on the manufacturer (Kia, Hyundai) and car model.
