What does the "Resource" additive consist of and how does it work?
The Resurs engine additive is a revitalizant (metal conditioner). This means that the main purpose of the composition is to restore damaged metal surfaces.
The "Resource" consists of several components.
- Fine particles of copper, tin, aluminum and silver. The proportions of these metals vary depending on the purpose of the composition. The particle size is in the range from 1 to 5 microns. The metal filler makes up to 20% of the total volume of the additive.

- Salts of dialkyldithiophosphoric acid.
- Surfactants.
- A small proportion of other components.
The composition is poured into fresh oil at the rate of one bottle per 4 liters. If there is more oil in the engine, it is advisable to use two packs.
Through the circulation of oil, the additive is delivered to all friction pairs (rings and cylinder surfaces, crankshaft journals and liners, camshaft journals and beds, piston seating surface and fingers, etc.). In contact spots, in areas with increased wear or microdamages, a porous metal layer is created. This layer restores the integrity of the contact patches and returns the operating parameters in the friction pair to almost nominal values. Also, such a solution stops the avalanche-like wear, which begins with uneven destruction of the working surfaces. And the porous structure of the formed protective layer retains oil and eliminates dry friction.
Manufacturers of the "Resource" additive promise the following positive effects:
- reduction of noise and vibrations generated by the engine;
- reduction of oil consumption for waste up to 5 times (depending on the degree of wear of the motor and the nature of the production);
- smoke reduction;
- increased compression in the cylinders;
- fuel economy up to 10%;
- overall increase in engine life.
The protective layer is formed after approximately 150-200 km of run.
The price for one bottle ranges from 300 to 500 rubles.
What is the difference between the "Resource" additive and similar compounds?
Let's briefly consider the two most famous representatives of engine additives with a similar effect: "Hado" and "Suprotek".
The key difference lies in the mechanism of operation and active components. If the Resource composition uses finely dispersed particles of soft metals as working components, which, together with surfactants and other auxiliary compounds, form a porous structure on the damaged surface, then the principle of action of the additives "Hado" and "Suprotek" is fundamentally different.
In these formulations, the main active ingredient is a natural mineral, the so-called serpentine. It is this mineral, in combination with some other additives, that forms a strong protective film with a low coefficient of friction on the surface of rubbing parts.
As for the positive effects, they are similar for all these additives.
Expert Reviews
The opinions of experts regarding the composition of the "Resource" vary. Some argue that the additive is practically useless, and in some cases can even have a negative effect on the engine. Other auto repairmen are sure that the "Resource" really works.
In fact, both sides are right to some extent. "Resource", judging by the numerous and versatile reviews, it makes sense to use only in some cases:
- with general engine wear, in which there are no serious problems yet, such as deep scuffing in the piston group or critical wear of rings;
- after a drop in compression and an increase in engine smoke, again, only in the absence of significant mechanical damage.
In new engines and power plants with low mileage without obvious problems, this additive is not needed. It is better to add this money to the TO cash desk and buy more expensive and high-quality oil. The meaning of the "Resource" additive lies precisely in the ability to restore worn surfaces that do not have cracks or deep burrs.
