Replacing a light bulb in a car headlight is considered a trivial matter. However, if we do not know how to do this, it is better to entrust this task to a specialist.
In the service, you can also check the condition of the lighting of the entire car, the performance of the electrical system and the charging system. 
If you still want to do it yourself, there are a few basic things to keep in mind. It is worth familiarizing yourself with how to do this so that at least something is not damaged. The light bulb can only be changed occasionally in good light. In addition, a basic understanding of how this is done in a particular car model is required. Sometimes it happens that in older cars it is easier to dismantle the used light bulb yourself.

Drivers often underestimate this problem. In winter, it's easy to find a car with one headlight working or, even worse, not working at all. However, such driving is illegal and, most importantly, very dangerous. From time to time it is necessary to check the condition of the lighting. The lack of a working light in front can be noticed as soon as the sun goes down or someone kindly blinks in our direction. Noticing that the rear lights don't work properly is a real problem. You may drive unknowingly, often until someone tells us or is pulled over by the police.

What to do if at least one of the lights in the car fails? Replacing a light bulb is the least problematic in cars where we have a lot of space in the engine bay. Otherwise, you will have to work hard. Then a flashlight and basic tools will come in handy. At the beginning, we may encounter a cover, especially in the case of the rear lights, but sometimes also in the front of the car. In order to get inside the rear light, it is usually enough to remove a fragment of the trunk lining. At the front, depending on the model, it may be necessary to fold down the wheel arch or even remove the entire lamp.
First of all, you need to check whether the light bulb has come off and whether it has dangled. If it burned out or the luminous body inside broke, it is enough to install a new one. – However, sometimes replacing a light bulb with a new one may not give the desired effect. Then you should check the connector (it often burns out or overheats). The next step is to check the fuse, says Leszek Raczkiewicz, service manager for Peugeot Ciesielczyk from Poznań.
If we want the lamp to last as long as possible and provide good visibility, it is worth investing in a product from a recognized company and the type recommended by the car manufacturer. Or consider buying a couple of light bulbs and replacing both at once. - It is also necessary to correctly adjust the light. Make sure the light bulb is inserted correctly. Not only to see the road well, but also not to blind other drivers,” says Leszek Rachkevich. Xenons are recommended to be replaced only at a service center or by a mechanic.
However, all these activities are much better done in appropriate conditions, such as in a garage. If you need to replace a light bulb, for example, at night on the side of the road, it may simply not work. The best solution is to address these issues regularly by buying new light bulbs every few months, up to once a year. Reviews are a good opportunity for this.
