Problems with car registration

Problems with car registration If we do not provide the documents required by law, the communication department will refuse to register the vehicle.

Problems with car registrationDepending on whether you bought a new or used car, you will need different documents for registration.

In the case of a used car, these would be:

- a completed vehicle registration application,

– confirmation of the ownership of the vehicle (invoice confirming the purchase of the vehicle, sale and purchase agreement, exchange agreement, donation agreement, life annuity agreement or a court decision on ownership that has entered into legal force),

– vehicle registration certificate with the current technical inspection date,

– vehicle card (if issued),

- dishes,

- an identity card or other document with a photo proving your identity.

Documents must be original.

If you bought a new car, you need to register:

- completed application

– confirmation of ownership of the vehicle, which in this case is usually a VAT invoice,

– vehicle card, if issued,

- extract from the act of approval,

– confirmation of payment of the recycling fee in the amount of PLN 500 (with identification of the vehicle: VIN number, body number, chassis number) made by the person getting into the vehicle or a statement that he is obliged to provide the vehicle collection network (declaration can be presented on the invoice) – applies to M1 or N1 vehicles and category L2e tricycles,

– an identity card or other document proving the identity.

One of the most common problems when registering a car is the lack of documents confirming ownership, for example, when the seller did not register the car for himself. The face of the owner, entered in the registration certificate, must match the seller of the car. If the succession of contracts for the transfer of ownership (for example, sale or donation) is maintained, it is sufficient to submit these contracts to the Communications Department, starting with the first owner of the car indicated in the registration certificate.

Worse, if there is no continuity of contracts, then the office cannot register the car.

We will also not be able to register a used car if we do not deliver the license plates to the communications department.

Another reason for refusing to register a car may be the lack of a vehicle card, if it was issued. In such a situation, it is necessary to obtain a duplicate vehicle card, which can be done in person at the communication department at the place of residence of the previous owner of the vehicle, and only after the owner reports the sale of the car. .

If the car has had several owners, the data of all these persons must be included in the sales contract and they must all sign the contract. It cannot be that, for example, a husband sells a joint car without the consent of his wife. One of the co-owners can conclude a contract for the joint sale of a car only if there is a written power of attorney from the others. It must be included in the contract.
