Replacing the distributor on a VAZ 2107 with your own hands

The distributor is responsible for the normal sparking in the ignition system and, as a result of its breakdown, it is necessary to replace this unit. Of course, there are very few such cases when you have to change a part completely. And in most cases this has to be done due to excessive wear on the shaft splines.

Firstly, it is worth bringing the tool that will be needed to carry out this repair of the VAZ 2107:

• 13 mm box spanner
• Pliers

For example, on the BSZ, a plug fits to it, which is fixed with a metal bracket. And on the contact system, all one wire, screwed with a nut, fits. [/ Colorbl]

First, remove all 5 wires from the cover: one of which is central, leading from the ignition coil, and the other 4 are candles.

Now it is worth disconnecting the plug from the distributor itself. As you already understood, I am giving an example of an electronic ignition system, since it is it that is installed on my VAZ 2107.

Next, we disconnect the vacuum hose, which goes from here to the car's carburetor. You can pull it off with your hand, without much effort.

It remains only to unscrew the nut, with which the distributor is attached to the engine block. This process is very clearly shown in the picture below.

That's practically all, it remains only to remove the distributor from the hole in the engine block, just pull it up:

If necessary, install a new one in reverse order. But there is one point that should be taken into account: when removing, remember the position in order to put everything in its original place later. The price of a new distributor for a VAZ 2107 can range from 600 to 800 rubles, depending on the type and manufacturer.
