Electric vehicle sales in Europe jumped twice in a year
The share of electric vehicles in the European market is growing rapidly, according to JATO Dynamics, citing its observations of sales in the EU.
In the first 6 months of 2020, electrified models occupied 16% of the total market. Compared to the same period in 2019, their share was only 7%.
Interestingly, this is mainly due to petrol vehicles, which have declined from 60% at the end of June 2019 to 53%. Diesels also note a retreat, but it is weaker than that of gasoline ICEs - from 31 to 28% per year.
The most popular electric car in June is the Renault Zoe, followed by the Tesla Model 3 and the electric version of the Volkswagen Golf. In the case of plug-in hybrids, the Ford Kuga is the leader, while in the case of conventional hybrids, the Toyota C-HR is in the lead.
