Preventing fires and limiting access to mountain biking in southern France
In the summer, more precisely from June 1 to September 30, in several departments in the south of France, access to woodlands is regulated as part of fire protection.
At the maximum risk (hot weather, no rain for several days, wind), access to certain areas may be limited, and sometimes completely prohibited. Obviously, mountain biking is not exempt from the rules.
