If you are looking for a used Buick vehicle, you can check out the vehicles through their Certified Used Program. Many manufacturers have a Certified Used Car Program (CPO) and each is set up differently. Read on to learn about the features of the Buick CPO program.

Certified used Buick vehicles are always under six years old, have less than 75,000 miles, and come with a 12 month/12,000 mile bumper to bumper limited warranty.

Inspection

To ensure that all certified used vehicles are safe to drive, a Buick CPO vehicle must pass a 172-point test that includes the following systems:

  • ENGINES
  • Transmission
  • Диск

Items not covered by the warranty include:

  • Tires
  • Damage due to bed linen
  • Damage due to collision, fire or theft
  • Damage due to improper use of the vehicle
  • Modifications or aftermarket upgrades
  • Damage due to insufficient maintenance
  • Damage due to poor quality fuel

Warranty

Buick CPO vehicles come with a bumper-to-bumper warranty for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, and does not require a franchise. Buick also offers an extended powertrain limited warranty that covers six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also offers certain benefits, including:

  • Full vehicle history report including service book.

  • A XNUMX/XNUMX roadside assistance program that offers emergency and safety services.

  • Reimbursement for rental services or free transportation if your vehicle requires warranty repairs.

The exact amount of reimbursement or roadside assistance can be obtained from an authorized certified Buick used car dealer.

Prices

Buying a certified pre-owned Buick instead of a used car can affect the price. Net profit will typically be about 6% higher than a typical "used" car.

For example, at the time of this writing in April 2016, a used Kelly blue book 2012 Buick LaCrosse sedan was valued at $16,303; the same car in the Buick CPO program costs about $17,278.

Compare Buick to other CPO programs

Whether or not you choose to use a CPO vehicle, it is always wise to have any used vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing it. A certified used car does not mean that the car is in perfect condition, and any used car can have serious problems that are not visible to the untrained eye. If you're in the market to buy a used car, schedule a pre-purchase inspection for complete peace of mind.
