If you are looking for a used Land Rover vehicle, you can check out the vehicles through their Certified Used Car Program. Many manufacturers have a Certified Used Car Program (CPO) and each is set up differently. Read on to learn about the features of the Land Rover CPO program.

Land Rover certified used vehicles must be less than five years old and have less than 60,000 miles on them. Vehicles covered by this program come with an extended six-year or 100,000-year limited powertrain warranty.

Inspection

To make sure all certified used vehicles are safe to drive, Land Rover puts all CPO vehicles through a 125-point test that includes all major mechanical, electrical and exterior vehicle systems, as well as a detailed interior. If any part does not meet the standards of Land Rover Inspection Technicians and cannot be repaired or replaced to pass inspection, the vehicle will not qualify as a Certified Used Vehicle.

Warranty

Land Rover CPO vehicles come with a Limited Powertrain Warranty that covers the repair or replacement of major engine, driveline and transmission components for six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The warranty also includes certain benefits, including:

  • Complete CARFAX vehicle history report including service book.

  • XNUMX/XNUMX roadside assistance program including emergency towing services to your nearest Land Rover dealer, XNUMX hours a day, XNUMX days a week.

  • A reimbursement program that covers living and transportation costs if your vehicle breaks down due to a warranty defect away from home.

Prices

Buying a certified used Land Rover instead of a used car can affect the price at most dealerships. Net profit will typically be about 12% higher than a typical "used" car.

For example, at the time of this writing in April 2016, a used 2012 Land Rover Range Rover was valued at $38,808 in the Kelley Blue Book; the same car is valued at $42,361 under the Land Rover CPO program.

Compare Land Rover to other certified used car programs

Whether or not you choose to use a CPO vehicle, it is always wise to have any used vehicle inspected by an independent certified mechanic before purchasing it. A certified used car does not mean that the car is in perfect condition, and any used car can have serious problems that are not visible to the untrained eye. If you're in the market to buy a used car, schedule a pre-purchase inspection for complete peace of mind.
