2016 Car Recycling Program: Timing
The car recycling program has been quite successful since 2010. Thanks to her, it was possible to significantly increase the level of sales of domestic cars, as well as foreign cars, but produced in Russia.
It is worth noting that since 2014, a noticeable financial crisis began in Russia, caused by the unstable political situation in the world and sanctions from the side of the EU and the USA. This led to the fact that sales of almost everything, including cars, began to slow down sharply.

And since September 2015, 10 billion rubles have been allocated to extend this program into 2016. The program will be terminated as soon as these funds run out, or a decision will be made to allocate another amount and extend it for 2017.
What changes await motorists in 2016?
In principle, no special changes are expected, no indexation of payments is provided. By scrapping an old car, you, as before, will receive for it:
- 50 thousand for a scrap car;
- 40-45 thousand under the Trade-In program;
- 90-120 thousand for crossovers, SUVs, minivans;
- up to 175 thousand for light commercial vehicles;
- up to 350 thousand for full-size buses or trucks.
It is also worth noting that some automakers set their own rates in order to attract customers:
- Ford Kuga, Ford Edge - 100 thousand;
- Skoda - 60-130 thousand (for the Skoda Yeti);
- Nissan Teana will be estimated at 80 thousand;
- for Opel Zafira you can get up to 130 thousand.
More detailed information can be obtained at car dealerships, as offers are constantly changing and various discounts and promotions are offered.
How to hand over a car under the recycling program?
The only innovation that has appeared since September 2015 is that the received discount certificate can be used when purchasing a car either domestically produced or produced in the Russian Federation.
To get a certificate you need:
- prepare the vehicle itself - it must be fully equipped, on the move, with seats, windows, doors, a battery and all other units;
- deregister the car with the traffic police, which must be noted in the vehicle passport;
- collect all the necessary documents confirming that the car is over six years old and has been in your possession for at least six months;
- Make copies of all of these documents.
Further, at your own expense, you need to deliver the transport to the point of acceptance of cars for scrap. In addition, you will have to pay for recycling services, and this is no less than three to seven thousand, depending on the mass-dimensional parameters of the car.
After all this, you will be given a certificate for 50-350 thousand rubles, with which you can go to any salon and buy at a discount or apply for a loan for a new car. These funds can be used as a down payment when applying for a loan.
If you are interested in the offer of a particular car dealership, in this case, you need to check with the managers where and how you need to rent your old car in order to get an increased discount.
How to rent a car under the Trade-In program?
If you do not want to buy a new Lada Granta or Vesta, but prefer foreign cars, even if they are used in Russia, then the trade-in program should suit you. You can buy a used car in good condition.
There are several advantages to this solution:
- the car is absolutely “clean” in legal terms - without collateral, fines, loan obligations;
- in car dealerships, all used cars undergo diagnostics and necessary repairs;
- Well, the most important circumstance is that prices are much lower than even for new budget cars of domestic production.
To use this program, you need:
- have on hand TCP and STS;
- do not remove the car from the register;
- country of origin and age do not matter;
- must belong to you for at least six months.
Again, it is best to contact Ford, Skoda, Nissan salons - here, under both programs, you will get the maximum benefit. So, for the purchase of a used Skoda Octavia under this program, you will receive 80 thousand rubles, not 45.
Innovations and perspectives
Pay attention also to one new abouttenure - in 2016, only a full-fledged owner of the vehicle can take part in the program. In extreme cases, you will have to issue a power of attorney. Legal entities can also hand over their used vehicles for recycling.
If you plan to purchase a car from AvtoVAZ, you must be a citizen of the Russian Federation. Also, recently there was news that AvtoVAZ extended the program only until the end of January 2016. At the same time, the Lada Vesta in the Comfort configuration should become the best-selling car, which will cost new owners 520 thousand or 470, taking into account the recycling discount.
It is planned that the allocated 10 billion rubles will be enough to pay for 200 certificates. At the same time, cars weighing up to 3 tons, that is, cars, SUVs, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles, are of the greatest interest.
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no information about increasing the discount rates. For example, in the same Europe, under the recycling program, you can get up to 3 thousand euros for a car, and much more for trucks.
