Electric motocross maker Alta Motors to cease production

Alta Motors, an electric motocross bike startup, is discontinuing production. This information was leaked to the media on Thursday, October 18, 2018. This is likely due to the exhaustion of funds to support the existence of the company.

Alta Motors is an American start-up specializing in the production of electric motocross motorcycles. Two-wheelers had an excellent reputation and won numerous competitions. QoQ sales are expected to grow by 2018 percent (source) and the company has already sold more than 50 motorcycles with 1 more awaiting delivery.

In addition, Alta Motors has negotiated a partnership with Harley Davidson between the two companies. However, the cooperation did not work out, Harley Davidson announced the launch of its own research and development center. On October 18, 2018, employees of the Alta Motors headquarters were reportedly released home earlier.... On the same day, information about the suspension of work began to be sent to dealers in the country.

This is a pretty sad stage for Alta Motors. However, this suggests that something is happening in the market (in a dead industry, companies do not collapse, because they do not exist), and business can be expensive and must be calculated carefully. Large manufacturers in the segment that can spend tens of billions of euros on battery cells - see: Volkswagen spends as much on batteries as everyone else ... Tesla costs - certainly drives up prices and pumps cells out of the market.
