Car manufacturers build dream yachts

Very often, especially at car dealerships, you can find any accessories or clothing with the logo of the world's most famous manufacturers, such as, for example, Ferrari, Lamborghini or Mercedes-Benz. All this merchandising contributes to building customer loyalty and, of course, increasing company revenues. However, the range of automotive brands goes far beyond T-shirts, hats or key chains, as these examples of yachts created by such brands (or rather, with their collaboration) show.

Cigarette Tiller AMG Edition

Cigarette Racing has created the Tiranna that combines speed and comfort. It is an 18-meter long sea rocket capable of a speed of 65 knots (120 km / h) thanks to 6 outboard 4,6-liter V8 engines that provide a total power of over 2700 hp. It is not a racing boat, however, as it offers a luxurious yacht interior as well as various carbon fiber parts from Mercedes-AMG. In short, it is the same as the street AMG, a mixture of luxury and sportiness. Curiously, Mercedes-AMG has released a G-Class collaboration on this occasion called the Cigarette Edition with boat colors and some specific details.

Lamborghini Tecnomar 63

This recent creation is not Lamborghini's first foray into the water sector, as the Italian company developed a pair of marine engines in the 1980s but never produced a complete boat. Now, thanks to the collaboration with Tecnomar, the brand can showcase his creations. Like Lamborghini cars, the boat also boasts top-notch performance – 4000 hp, a top speed of 110 km/h and a price tag of around 1 million euros.

Lexus LY650

As seen in previous examples, yachts from car manufacturers are often the result of partnerships with specialized companies in the maritime sector. However, this is not the case with the Lexus LY 650. It is also true that this product is not 100% a Lexus product because the Italian yacht design studio Nuvolari Lenard is involved in the project. However, the original idea came from a Japanese brand that aims to showcase a luxury lifestyle outside of the cars themselves. The LY650 is 19,8 meters long and is powered by a 12,8-liter Volvo Penta IPS engine developing 1350 horsepower. The body uses composite materials and reinforced plastic, and many on-board electronic devices can be controlled using a smartphone.

Mercedes Arrow460 GranTurismo

When it comes to yachts, the German automaker is taking another trump card with the 460 Arrow2016-GranTurismo. Designed by Mercedes-Benz Design Center and designed by Britain's Silver Arrows Marine, this boat draws inspiration from the luxurious interior of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. It is 14m long, seats 10 people, has tables, beds, a bathroom, a luxurious walk-in closet and, logically, all interior paneling is made of wood. The yacht is equipped with two Yanmar 6LY3-ETP air-cooled diesel engines, the total power of which is 960 hp. Claimed top speed is 40 knots, which is about 74 km/h.

Pininfarina Super Sport 65

The Super Sport 65, created in collaboration with Italy's Rossinavi, embodies Pininfarina's vision of a magnificent luxury yacht. At least 65,5 m in length and maximum 11 m in width, although with a displacement of just 2,2 m, this small ship is sized to allow it to easily enter ports and bays that other yachts with its dimensions do not have access to. ... ... The design also took a lot of parts from the world of cars, besides there are several floors here.

Iveco Sealand

Finally, a model that has so far little in common with luxury yachts. This is the Iveco SeaLand, an experimental amphibious vehicle based on the Iveco Daily 4×4, presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. From a mechanical point of view, it has hardly changed, except for its own amphibious vehicle concept with a special body and welded steel, the body directly around the car. The model has a hydrojet engine, complemented by a 3,0-liter turbodiesel engine and fuel tanks with a total capacity of 300 liters. The brand faced a major challenge for SeaLand crossing the Corsican Canal: 75 nautical miles, about 140 kilometers, in just under 14 hours.
