The oil pressure on the VAZ 2112 has disappeared

One of the most alarming lamas on the VAZ 2110-2112 instrument panel is the oil pressure emergency lamp. When the ignition is turned on, it must necessarily light up, which indicates its serviceability.

But after starting the engine, it should go out, if everything is normal with the pressure in the engine.

If on your car this lamp lights up with the engine running, but the engine must be turned off immediately, otherwise it can jam by turning the inserts.

In general, the problems can be very serious. In the practice of many acquaintances, the main reasons for the loss of oil pressure can be:

• Sudden drop in engine oil level. As they say, no oil - no pressure, where can he come from. Check the level on the dipstick immediately. If the dipstick is “dry”, it is necessary to add oil to the required level, and try to start the engine, but carefully, making sure that the lamp goes out immediately.
• Worn main and connecting rod bearings. Usually, these engine parts do not wear out instantly and therefore the pressure lamp may light up gradually. At first, it will flash on a warm engine, and then it may even light up at idle. In this case, it is necessary not only to change the liners, but also, most likely, to bore the crankshaft. In this case, you will then have to select the appropriate size earbuds.
• Pressure drop during winter start. There may be several reasons for this. One of which is the “freezing” of the oil, as it becomes thick and the pump is unable to pump it through the system. This usually happens if mineral oil is filled in. Also, the problem may be as follows: in some way (perhaps during a winter oil change), condensate formed in the pan and turned into ice in severe frost, thereby clogging the oil pump screen. In this case, the pump will stop pumping, and of course, the pressure will disappear!
