Tesla firmware 2020.40.8.12 with a modified interface and new visualization [video] • CARS

Tesla software number 3 is starting to fall into the hands of early Model 2020.40.8.12 owners. For a select few, it allows beta testing of FSD, it should provide an updated, slightly structured interface for everyone. Some of these new products are reminiscent of the Cybertruck.

Tesla Software 2020.40.8.12 - what's new

In footage from the Cybertruck premiere, it was noted that Tesla's electric pickup uses a dark background in the user interface, it also displays new animations in the navigation, and displays menu items in different ways:

Although the dark background itself appeared three years ago (Display -> Display Mode), with firmware 2020.40.8.12, the Tesla Model 3 view in the interface has been updated, which is now visible from the front / left / top. Some icons around the car rendering have been moved to the very bottom of the screen (for example, wipers):

From the interface The Tesla logo, still visible next to the temperature, has disappeared.... To check your vehicle information, go to Controls -> Software... People who have been invited to test the latest FSD have a firmware description that begins with a description of the FSD beta. Currently, only a select few in several US states are experimenting with it (source).

The front trunk was simply renamed to Frunk... If we equip it with actuators, we can open and close it programmatically, at least that's how it looks in the animation:

Tesla does not sell such actuators yet; there is no Model 3 with an electrically opening and closing front tailgate. In the last facelift, the electrically raised tailgate was presented "only":

The latest firmware is currently being shipped to Early Access members, so other car owners should look forward to it in the coming weeks.
