Checking the condition of buses transporting children on holidays - at specially designated points throughout Poland

Checking the condition of buses transporting children on holidays - at specially designated points throughout Poland During the summer holidays, we can see many more buses carrying children and young people on our roads. In order for them to reach their destination safely, the police launched checkpoints operating throughout Poland.

In addition, at some inspection points it will be possible to check the technical condition of the bus free of charge. Buses are also checked by the traffic inspectorate.

Let's remember the important aspects related to the trip!

    – The organizers of a bus trip should take into account, first of all, the safety of passengers. It is important that the bus is in perfect technical condition, and that the company offering its services has the best reputation.

    – A heavily worn vehicle with very high mileage, even if prepared for the road, presents a risk of breakdown and complications during the trip.

    – Information confirming the technical condition of the vehicle can be obtained by requesting a technical inspection.

    – If a teacher or parent at the meeting point suspects that the bus is malfunctioning, or if the driver's behavior indicates that he may be intoxicated, he should not agree to leave. Then you should call the police, who will check the suspicions.

    – The organizers of the trip can notify the police in advance of the need to check the bus.

    – In the bus rental agreement, you can include a clause that the bus must pass a technical inspection at the checkpoint before departure.

    – If the carrier does not want to agree to the inspection of the vehicle and the driver, this is a sign that he is afraid of revealing violations.

    – Precautions related to the technical condition of the wagon must be observed regardless of the length of the route.

The checkpoint work of the police will be supplemented by active information and educational work - police officers will participate in meetings with children vacationing in summer camps and at numerous picnics, one-time preventive measures, and security actions.

We can also check the bus ourselves on the website: Bezpieczautobus.gov.pl and on the website historiapojazd.gov.pl.

The "safe bus" service displays information collected since the first registration of a bus in Poland. It allows you to check, among other things:

    – whether the vehicle has a valid mandatory third party liability insurance and a valid mandatory technical inspection (together with information on the timing of the next inspection),

    – meter readings recorded during the last technical inspection (note: the system has been collecting information about meter readings since 2014),

    – technical data such as the number of seats or the weight of the vehicle,

    – whether the vehicle is currently marked in the database as deregistered or stolen.
