I'll tell you a little story, from which many car owners will conclude that in fact, the throughput of a car depends primarily on the driver of this car. Several times I was convinced of this conviction, and each time it was confirmed in practice.

It happened a few years ago, in a fierce winter I had to go to my girlfriend in a neighboring farm every day. The road, if it could be called that at all, passed through the field, there was no asphalt or any other surface, a broken Russian dirt road. It was also tightly covered with snow, naturally, no one has ever cleaned it, since there were only a few yards in the farm. So I had to punch the road every evening in my VAZ 2112 1,5 16-valve.

At first I drove alone in my dvenashka, the road at the farm had a slight slope, and it was easier to get there than to leave. When I went down to the farm along a snowy road, the snow from my breakthrough flew several meters away from the car in different directions. He usually punched the road at high speed, especially since the VAZ 2112 with a 16-valve engine allowed it, in third gear he punched his way down so that he could somehow go back downhill. And there was not a single case that I did not go back on my twelfth, not always from the first time, sometimes I had to go back, but from the second or third time I always jumped out.

A few weeks later, my friend began to go with me to the same farm with me to his girlfriend, in a VAZ 2114 car. For me, I did not see the difference between our cars, and it was not at all. But for some reason, the boy even managed to get stuck down the track I had trodden. And then I had to back up and push him so that he continued on his way after me. And this happened every evening, and I remember one case especially well. There was a very strong blizzard and again, as always, we went to the farm. I drove ahead to break the field snowy in front, yes, yes, the field, since the road was no longer visible. We somehow went down, although my friend in a VAZ 2114 in one of the simplest places managed to get stuck, we pushed him out, I drove around the field and drove forward. But it was more fun back. Naturally, I went first, immediately accelerated the car and switched on the second gear, since it was dangerous to move in the first gear in deep snow, at low speed one could easily sit on the bottom. I was driving, I could hardly hold the steering wheel in my hands, the car carried to the sides, and still I looked in the mirror. When I started to drive to a more or less passable section of the road, I saw that my friend, as always, was stuck behind. I stopped, turned off my car and went to his aid. I hear the engine is just bursting, steam is pouring out from under the hood. I walk up to the car, open the door, and see that the engine temperature is already at its maximum 130 degrees. I was just shocked. He told his friend that he was a complete fool, that he heated the car to such a temperature, and he also took and turned off the engine. Then I just went crazy, because you can't turn off the engine at this temperature, it can jam, you need to wait for the engine to idle and cool from the fan to normal temperature.

In short, I kicked him out from behind the wheel, sat down and started his car, waited for the engine to reach operating temperature, and decided to leave without assistance. Slowly, at first, with a swing, back and forth, he began to rock the car and as soon as he felt that the car was slowly getting out of the snow, he added revs to it and the VAZ 2114 seemed to break off the chain and rushed as if there was no snow. And to be honest, I did not notice the difference between my VAZ 2112 and the car of my friend VAZ 2114. And once even downhill, when I nevertheless let my friend forward on his fourteenth, I had to go around him in the field, as he got stuck. It was then that he finally realized that he did not know how to drive, even if he got stuck where I was able to bypass him in the field downhill on a snow-covered road.

Probably 100 such stories accumulated over the whole winter, while the snow was lying, the story continued every day and every day I had to either push his car or change behind the wheel to leave. And every day I was convinced that the passability of the car primarily depends on the driver, since I even drove a friend’s car without any problems, where it overheated the VAZ 2114 engine to the temperature of the VAZ 2114. And here’s another interesting point, on my friend's car was fitted with Continental winter tires, and I put my twelfth in regular Amtel tires - and the cheapest ones.
