Spring mattress - for whom?

A good night's sleep is essential to your well being. However, without a properly selected mattress, it is difficult to get enough sleep. This spring-loaded one is, contrary to what it appears to be, an excellent choice, at least in a few cases. When should you choose? What benefits does it provide? We advise.

An adult needs at least six hours of sleep a day to function at "peak speed." Sleep is a moment of recovery - a time when the body and mind rest, preparing for the next difficult day. It's hard to feel blooming when you can't sleep - after a long night, we usually feel not only tired, but also have a depressed mood and cognitive abilities.

Factors affecting the quality of sleep

Many factors can affect the quality of sleep. Many sleep disorders are caused by lifestyle. Drinking large amounts of caffeinated or alcoholic beverages, an unhealthy diet, and too little or too much physical activity can all adversely affect sleep. Of course, its quality is also affected by the level of stress. Highly stressful events can exacerbate the problem of insomnia, and chronic stress is an easy path to a serious disorder. Many people also have very light sleep, and any change in light intensity or harsher sounds can easily interrupt sleep.

All of these factors are extremely important and should be kept in mind when trying to improve the quality of your sleep. However, there is another very important element that should not be forgotten. I'm talking about the conditions in which we sleep. This refers not only to the temperature in the bedroom and the supply of fresh air, but also to the mattress itself. It largely depends on whether you wake up with a feeling of freshness or with pain in your neck and spine.

Types of mattresses - which are the most popular on the market?

Mattresses are usually divided according to the material that was used to make them. In furniture and department stores that offer bedding, such as AvtoTachki, you will find the following types of mattresses:

  • soap
  • latex
  • coconut
  • buckwheat
  • spring loaded

The first two types are characterized by a homogeneous, synthetic filler. The next two have a natural filling made with materials that perfectly protect against moisture absorption and mold formation. The last group, i.e. spring mattresses are still a popular mattress category on the market, valued for their durability and level of comfort.

Spring mattress - types

Spring-loaded models absorb moisture much less than foam and latex. They are characterized by lower hardness, which, of course, mainly depends on the model. What types of spring mattresses can you find on the market?

  • bonello – equipped with a combined spring system, they guarantee relative flexibility combined with strength and resistance to deformation. Bonell mattresses are an excellent choice if you care about the durability of the accessory;
  • pocket - in the case of the pocket version, the springs are placed in pockets, and do not form an interconnected system. While in the case of the Bonell models the flexibility is superficial, the pocket ones are characterized by point elasticity. They are durable and equipped with a large number of springs. Pocket mattresses can vary both in density and in the number of hardness zones. Another common difference is the location of the pockets. A mattress with pocket springs is an excellent solution for everyone who cares about a comfortable sleep.

Spring mattress - advantages

Although foam mattresses today are far from the imperfect products that can be remembered from the end of the last century, there is no doubt that these spring mattresses are still the most popular with consumers. Cause? Habit, of course, is not without value. Spring mattresses have been on the market for much longer than their foam or latex counterparts. Another important aspect that may encourage you to invest in a spring option is, of course, durability. Thanks to the use of springs, the mattress remains flexible without wrinkling quickly.

Spring mattress - what to look for when choosing?

When choosing a spring mattress, keep in mind that the greater the density of the springs, the greater the comfort. Where does this addiction come from? Good distribution of a large number of springs minimizes the transmission of vibrations. As a result, only those elements that are under pressure are bent. This is especially important for people who have problems with the spine and complain of pain in its various parts.

Another important aspect is the distribution of the springs. Bonell mattresses, in which the springs form a connected system, are popular due to their affordable price. Pocket Spring mattresses are quite expensive compared to Bonnell mattresses, but it's an investment worth the money. The distribution of springs in the pockets guarantees even weight distribution and firmness of the mattress.

Pockets are the ideal solution for mattresses, also due to better air circulation. Why is it so important? The better the fabric breathes, the less likely it is to harbor germs and mold. Air circulation is the key to limiting the moisture that builds up in these types of accessories. This can be especially harmful for allergy sufferers and people with respiratory problems. A well-breathing mattress is just as important for sleep as a well-ventilated room.

Spring mattress and foam mattress - what to choose?

Not so long ago, the choice was quite obvious, if you do not take into account financial issues - usually a spring mattress was in the lead, despite a slightly higher price. However, today it is no longer so easy, because the foam options, thanks to technical improvements, are not inferior in terms of comfort to the spring options and fit just as well on the body. However, if you like spring mattresses that are somewhat subject to body pressure, but do not deform, choosing a spring model will be a bull's-eye.
