Puejo e-Expert Hydrogen. Production Peugeot with hydrogen

Puejo e-Expert Hydrogen. Production Peugeot with hydrogen Peugeot has unveiled its first production model powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Filling the e-Expert Hydrogen with hydrogen will take three minutes.

The new PEUGEOT e-EXPERTA Hydrogen is available in two body styles:

  • Standard (4,95 m),
  • Long (5,30 m).

Puejo e-Expert Hydrogen. Production Peugeot with hydrogenUp to 6,1 m1100, the usable volume and space for driver and passenger in the two-seat cabin is exactly the same as in the combustion engine versions. The hydrogen fuel cell electric version has a maximum load capacity of 1000 kg. It can also tow trailers up to XNUMX kg.

The new PEUGEOT e-EXPERCIE Hydrogen uses a medium-duty hydrogen fuel cell electrical system developed by the STELLANTIS group, consisting of:

  1. a fuel cell that generates the electricity needed to run a car from hydrogen stored in an onboard pressure vessel system,
  2. A 10,5 kWh rechargeable lithium-ion high voltage battery that can also be used to power the electric motor during certain driving phases.

The three-cylinder assembly under the floor holds a total of 4,4 kg of hydrogen compressed at 700 bar.

The new PEUGEOT e-EXPERT Hydrogen has a range of more than 400 km in a cycle that complies with the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Passenger Vehicle Testing Procedure) homologation protocol, including approximately 50 km on the high-voltage battery.

Filling with hydrogen takes only 3 minutes and is done through a valve located under a cap in the left rear fender.

  1. less than an hour from the WallBox terminal 11 kW (32 A),
  2. 3 hours from reinforced household socket (16 A),
  3. 6 hours from a standard household outlet (8A).

The individual phases of the "medium power hydrogen fuel cell electrical system" are as follows:

  • When starting off and at low speeds, the energy needed to move the car is taken only from a high-voltage battery,
  • At a stabilized speed, the electric motor receives power directly from the fuel cell,
  • When accelerating, overtaking or climbing hills, the fuel cell and high-voltage battery together provide the necessary energy to the electric motor.
  • During braking and deceleration, the electric motor recharges the high-voltage battery.

The new PEUGEOT e-EXPERT Hydrogen will first be delivered to business customers (direct sales) in France and Germany, with first deliveries expected at the end of 2021. The vehicle will be built at the Valenciennes plant in France and then adapted at the Stellantis Group's dedicated hydrogen drive center in Rüsselsheim, Germany.
