Traveling in May – how to get to your destination safely?

May is around the corner. For most of us, this month is associated with grilling, meeting friends and "long weekends." All this is due to the need to constantly move. When going on vacation during longer vacations, we must consider traffic congestion and congestion. Unfortunately, on our way there are also drivers who drive a car only “on holidays”. Try to keep your eyes on your head to safely reach your destination. How to do it? We advise on several points!

1. Leave early enough

If you have an appointment, you probably specified what time you will arrive at your destination. Big. Now just plan your departure time... It is best to add about 30 minutes or an hour to your planned driving time, because you have to take that into account. possible traffic jams and inconveniences. Also think about the weather - they happen in May spring weather changes. If you go to the mountains, you might even see snow! Be prepared for any surprises and remember - it will be safer if you leave early and do not press the gas pedal. Why go crazy? Get to your place of residence safe and sound, stress-free.

2. Before setting off, check the car.

Probably not many of us do this, but the experience of road users shows that it is worth it. What are you talking about? O checking the car before driving. Let's look at the technical condition of the machine - do we have enough air in the wheels? Are there warning lights on the dashboard? Maybe you have to replace the lamp or add washer fluid? Some of these things seem trivial, but in terms of a long journey, they can be very important. The kit is best put in the trunk in case of an emergency - take, for example, replacement of bulbs. Even if we buy them on the occasion of a trip, nothing is lost - after all, our current lights will burn out and we can immediately replace the damaged ones.

3. Remember to rest and be sober.

This is another very important point. Let's not allow ourselves to have a lot of fun just before leaving, and if we have any doubts about our sobriety, let's use a breathalyzer... If we don't have a device at home, we can easily go to the police station and check our sobriety. Also, let's not underestimate fatigue. When we get behind the wheel, we are responsible for everyone who travels in our car, as well as for the people we meet along the way. If there is a long way ahead, we rest. All this for the fastest possible response "behind the wheel".

4. Convenience while driving.

When going on a long journey, we will take care of driving comfort. Let's adjust the seat and headrest, and also consider whether a passenger can, for example, replace us after a few hours of driving. Then we will rest a bit and gather our strength to get behind the wheel. If our route is very long, let's take breaks - stretch our legs well and give our eyes a break from constantly watching the movement. Driving comfort also includes physical comfort. Before leaving, let's take care of various trifles - replace worn out rugs, get rid of annoying odors or buy a CD with your favorite hits... Small elements increase comfort and driving pleasure, so they are worth considering when going on a long journey.

Driving a car can be safe if we take care of it before you leave. Of course, we cannot predict many things, such as the weather or the behavior of other drivers. But let's be as prepared as possible. Let's try to test our cars and our personal driving ability. It is impossible to be drunk or not sleep. It is also important that we have useful items in our car, for example - spare bulbs, flashlight in case of a "fight" or washer fluid for topping up... It is worth warning not to regret it later!
