Five cars that are almost never stopped by the traffic police

Until now, no one has seriously tried to choose a car on the basis of reduced attention to the model from the traffic police. Without claiming to be the ultimate truth, we offer our TOP 5 cars, which are least often unreasonably slowed down by law enforcement officers.

The police “slow down” one car regularly to check documents and assess the sobriety of the driver, and almost never the other. This statement does not quite work when, for example, there is some kind of “interception plan” for cars with specific signs in the city, or there is a traffic police raid to check all drivers passing by for intoxication.

But under average statistical conditions, the differences in terms of “stopability” between models are very large. For the first time this phenomenon attracted the attention of the author of these lines several years ago. Then the authorities just intensified the fight against drunkenness at the wheel and they introduced draconian punishments for drunk drivers.

Skoda Octavia Estate

Skoda Octavia Combi, which was at my disposal at that moment, simply struck me with its “incorporeality” for the oncoming traffic police officers. Several times I encountered a continuous check of all passing cars by a crowd of traffic cops, accompanied by riot police, and passed these pickets without stopping at all. The police looked literally "through" the Czech station wagon, as if it were an empty place on the pavement.

It is characteristic that until now, sitting behind the wheel of each new generation of Octavia Combi, I know for sure: if you yourself do not violate traffic rules, not a single police soul will be interested in you on the road. Apparently, the traffic police knows something about the owners of the station wagon, which makes the latter absolutely uninteresting characters, neither from the position of a penalty protocol, nor from the point of view of bribery potential.

Volkswagen Caddy

Approximately the same "antipathy" on the part of the police, as practice shows, is enjoyed by another "Volkswagen nest chick" - the "heeled" VW Caddy in the passenger version. It must be assumed that citizens who purchase such cars are so pragmatic and iron-clad reasonable that “rolling up” to them with this or that police “divorce” is more expensive for themselves.

ssangyong tivoli

The history of communication of the author of these lines with SsangYong Tivoli is not as long as with VAG products - the mentioned “Korean” has not yet exchanged even one generation. But the policemen seem to have developed allergies already. The model is rare, relatively expensive in our market, it is acquired, by all indications, by people, let's say, peculiar. With whom, apparently, even the police once again do not want to deal with.

Subaru Legacy

No less "invisible" for patrol Subaru Legacy. At the beginning of sales in the domestic market, employees stopped this sedan, no, no, yes, mainly in order to take a closer look at the new product and find out details about it from the owner. But now this interest in the “Japanese” has dried up, the car has turned into an “invisible model”, which cannot but rejoice.

Citron C4 Picasso

The five most “invisible” cars for the police would not be complete without the Frenchman Citroen C4 Picasso. The emphatically designer appearance of the model and its high cost narrow the circle of its owners to a group of originals, for whom it is important to be “not like everyone else” in the stream. And what violator of traffic rules seeks to attract attention, including the police?! There is nothing to take from such an amateur, as they say, so there is no point in waving the striped baton in the direction of this "Frenchman" once again.
