Quattro (with sport differential)

This differential is an evolution of the traditional Quattro system found by Audi, which is mainly found in the sports models of the House and is able to distribute the torque between the four wheels, mainly to the rear. Depending on the steering angle, lateral acceleration, yaw angle, speed, the control unit evaluates the most suitable torque distribution for the wheels in each driving situation, ensuring the maximum value for the rear wheel.

The difference in traction between the left and right wheels has an additional steering effect that can reduce the usual steering wheel adjustments made by the driver and completely eliminate understeer.

The torque is distributed through multi-plate clutches in an oil bath controlled by a hydraulic drive, a system capable of transmitting almost all the torque to one wheel, in fact, reckoning that the difference in torque between the wheels can reach values equal to 1800 Newton meters.

This transmission, supplied with the innovative Audi Drive Select system, provides better cornering stability and an excellent active safety system.
