Clutch Operation / Clutch Control

Hi,

For Peugeot 206 + 1,4 l HDi,

150 km, very smooth ride and over short distances.

On August 1, after the first click when passing through the 3rd, the click when trying to pass the 1st after the red traffic light is much louder. The pedal became "chaotically soft", suddenly I was able to push it with a feeling of classic resistance, suddenly I was able to quickly push it towards the motor ... I was stuck in neutral. Being 2 km from the Peugeot garage, they took it from me and managed to take it to the garage.

Verdict: "It was a cable." I ask, is the clutch okay? I was told yes.

I drove 4 times last week, just a few miles. Sometimes it was difficult for me to pass the second one, it creaked, as if I hadn’t pressed the pedal all the way, I thought it was me who missed me. This never happened before changing the cable while driving, however, since the car was bought (sometimes) in 2014, backups are often moody.

This Friday, August 27, small creaks of poor traction on the road, most often for a second. Pedal with the same resistance as always, neither hard nor soft, no slippage. Red light, neutral, I'm going to restart, the pedal goes between my legs with a big clang and it stays right under the steering wheel, nothing else is possible. Today the car returns to the Peugeot garage. I still called them on Saturday, they told me: "If the new cable is broken, then this is the clutch", without seeing the car.

If this is true: in 3 weeks my clutch did not suddenly wear out, so the cable was changed, they said "yes, yes", but the clutch itself was not checked? Is it possible? Change the cable without looking around?

If that's true: is the clutch eating up new cables? Looking at how the clutch works, I don't quite understand the ratio. Especially if when driving, as soon as the cable was changed and in 2 weeks, everything was as before, a flexible pedal, shifting gears without friction.

Is there a problem? Is the cable type faulty, poorly fitted, or a part that rubs against it and breaks?

Or do I have to decide to change the entire clutch as I was told?

I confess that I accumulate them there, my level of confidence is not up to par (the brake hose was changed, allegedly “broken” after 10 minutes on a 90 km / h downhill, I return to the garage immediately on the handbrake Four new tires need to be changed immediately, because they do not MOT, the garage never realized that the reference tires were not very good), but since this is the garage where the cable was changed, I can't start by bringing it to another place .. .

Thank you in advance for your advice, I am a single girl, I live with a salary below the minimum (disability), I am a little afraid that they will take me for a walk, and that I will be forced to spend a year on savings and that the problem has not been solved ...
