We participated in the Rally Italia talent selection day with a Suzuki Swift Sport.

This is a real record of subscribers that Rally Italy Talent this year: more 9.000 guys participated in the selection of this "wonderful" talent, invented Renzo Magnani in 2014 it was young people, car and racing enthusiasts, a category that seemed to have disappeared and been buried due to the crisis and social media. However, the dream of participating in an official rally stirred the crowds. Millennials, which make up to 80% of the total number of subscribers, while 41,4% are people aged 18 to 25, and, incredibly, 8% are women. To register, you only need 42 euros if you are among the first 1000 participants, 60 euros instead of those who come "long". A very low figure, especially considering motorsport prices. And not only one will win, but there will be one winner in each category (under 18, under 23, under 35, over 35, for women, with and without Aci Sport license). Also very interesting is the fact that more than 50% of the boys who participated in this talent then retired their sports licenses, which is very good news for the sport.

Thus was born the car with which the boys will compete in the 2019 edition, this is a small rally: Suzuki Swift Sport.

THE SUZUKI SWIFT SPORT

The Suzuki Swift Sport is the perfect vehicle for this talent. With a weight of less than 1000 kg (975, or rather) and the engine 1.4 turbo with 140 hp and 230 Nm of torque, it's nimble, intuitive and fast enough. IN Manual Transmission (the only option) is precise, the steering feels great and the traction is excellent. We already drove it thoroughly a few months ago, but it's always nice to get back behind the wheel.

TESTS

And this is how we face skill tests Rally Italia's talent, appreciated by super-professionals such as Piero Longhi, Ggi Pirollo, Renato Travaglia and Andrea Dallavilla.

Begin with skid, a wheel devil that lifts the rear axle of a car slightly so that it glides well and mimics poor traction conditions. This is difficult to control, especially if you have to bump into the track between the slalom cones, especially if you are timing. In short, a test that tests the pilot's sensitivity and nerves.

This is followed by the stages of the track, always with Suzuki Swift Sportheld at the circuit and go-kart tracks throughout Italy. It starts with a scouting circle, then two launches and a countdown. But not only time determines the final result: each participant will be judged by a professional driver and must receive at least 8 points out of 10 on various driving points.

SEMIFINALS AND FINALS

The election has just ended, but the semi-finals Talent Aci Rally Italia will be held at Circuit Abruzzo Ortona, in Switzerland, on weekends March 29, 30 and 31, and the final will take place inAdria International Raceway, in Veneto.
