Great Wall Premium Frame SUV

Chinese manufacturer Great Wall will launch a premium SUV, which will be sold under the Wey luxury brand and get a “square” design in the style of the Jeep Wrangler and the revived Ford Bronco. According to Autohome, the new model will use the platform on which the Haval H9 is built (marking P01).

Wey P01 will be externally made in the form of a full-fledged SUV with a frame structure. A square body with chopped edges and round headlights make the new product similar to the analogues of the leading manufacturers in this class. As can be seen in the published photos, one of the features of the SUV will be extended wings and a spare tire on the tailgate.

The manufacturer promises rich equipment for the model, and the front chassis will receive independent suspension and a rear axle. The SUV will receive all-wheel drive with electronically controlled front axle clutch and lower gear. The current Haval H9 also has a mechanical rear differential lock and 7 driving modes, but it is not known whether they will be “transferred” to the new P01.

The new SUV's engine lineup will include a 2,0-liter gasoline turbo engine that combines with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The engine now develops 245 hp. and 385 Nm, but Wey P01 can offer other power options.
