Are we looking at LDV's answer to the Ford Ranger Raptor?

This is Demon King SAIC Maxus Bull. You read that right - it's called the Ox Demon King. Because apparently the Bull Demon itself wasn't aggressive enough.

This kitted car was unveiled as a concept at the recent Chengdu Auto Show, and now SAIC has unveiled the production version at the Guangzhou Auto Show last week.

SAIC is the giant parent company of LDV and its Chinese market equivalent of the Maxus brand, as well as MG Motor.

Beneath all the extra skin, plastic and off-road parts of the Bull Demon King is the LDV T60 Max, which just went on sale in Australia in early November.

T60 Max is the upgraded and upgraded version of T60, which has been the best seller of the Chinese brand since 2017. In China, it is known as the Maxus T90.

LDV Australia hasn't said much about the Bull Demon King's prospects, but it could eventually end up in local showrooms as the new flagship of the T60 Max range - albeit with a different name (hopefully) - replacing the previous model line. T60 Trailrider.

LDV sells older variants of the T60 alongside the newer T60 Max, but the older model has been removed from the LDV Australia website. Cars Guide understands that they are already close to the sale.

If it lands in Australia, it will collide with vehicles such as the Ford Ranger Wildtrak or even Raptor, Nissan Navara Pro-4X and Warrior, Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain, Mazda BT-50 Thunder, Toyota HiLux Rugged X and more. .

Key changes from the donor car include a blacked-out grille and Maxus badge, orange highlights around the grille, fog lights and side air intakes, while a light bar on the roof and an off-road winch bumper add to the super-aggressive look. .

On the side of the car are bulging wheel arches with a plastic lining and visible bolts, and at the back there are darkened taillights, an off-road bumper and a towbar. The trunk contains a full-size spare tire, as well as mounting hooks and a roll bar.

SAIC chose a completely different atmosphere in the cabin. CarNewsChina. Instead of rugged materials and a rugged look befitting a rugged exterior, it features luxurious maroon leather seats and dashboard/door accents, a leather steering wheel and a fully digital instrument cluster integrated with a media screen.

This represents a key difference from the T60 Max for the Australian market. The Max has had design changes and a minor visual upgrade from the old T60, but the Bull Demon King's dashboard looks much more modern and luxurious.

Under the hood of the Bull Demon King is the same 2.0kW/160Nm 500-litre bi-turbo diesel engine found in the newly launched T60 Max. It drives all four wheels through an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
