Extended Test: VW T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI (2019) // Volkswagen T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI – Small T

The tallest is of course the Touareg, followed by the Tiguan Allspace, Tiguan, T-Roc and the smallest T, the T-Cross. And the fact that it's small, in a world full of roads, too few parking spaces, and fast-paced life, isn't a bad thing. Opposite: The 4,1-meter T-Cross is perfect for the bustle of the city.while its crossover interior design (taller and slightly upright seats) allows it to remain roomy enough for family use.

In our extended test, we will be "torturing" the T-Cross, which is the easiest in terms of traction and the most equipped in terms of equipment, but without additional equipment.... That means a liter TSI with 85 kW or 115 "horsepower", a six-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive and Style equipment. This in itself is quite rich: dual-zone air conditioning, excellent LED headlights, a parking system, active cruise control (which, due to the manual transmission, does not work until it stops, if you choose automatic, then work), lane keeping system (working at speed above 60 kilometers per hour), a longitudinally movable rear seat ... The list is rich enough for the basics of comfort and safety, and only red was on the list of extras.Extended Test: VW T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI (2019) // Volkswagen T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI – Small T

And we recognize: if you could remove a few more boxes for accessories, the price would be about a thousandth higher instead of 20 thousand... We would add a Travel package (which includes digital sensors, a rearview camera, rain sensor and auto-dimming interior mirrors), an App-Connect system (so that an otherwise good infotainment system also gets Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto) and a smart key. For just one thousand hundred euros, this little T would be really perfect.

What about the power plant? For the first thousand kilometers, the turbocharged liter gasoline proved to be powerful enough so that the driver did not feel malnourished. also on the highway, as well as for economical. Most of the indicated kilometers were laid along the highway or in the city, i.e. in the most unfavorable conditions in terms of fuel consumption, as slow driving in the regions was only exemplary. Consumption, however, has risen by just over seven liters, which is one and a half liters more than the normal round had (five and a half liters). We dare to write that most drivers will have a consumption of a little more than six liters. At the same time, the engine is pleasantly quiet at low and medium speeds, which reduces fatigue on long trips - the same goes for comfortable sports front seats (standard) and chassis settings that are such that Ts live on the proverbial poor Slovenian roads. content doesn't hurt.Extended Test: VW T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI (2019) // Volkswagen T-Cross Style 1.0 TSI – Small T

Of course, the extended test route of this T-Cross has just begun for us and there will be more impressions (and more drivers will sit behind the wheel in a variety of conditions) (and we can also find a minus). But the first impression of the smallest Volkswagen T is definitely positive.
