Rust Stop is an oil inhibitor that effectively protects any metals and their combinations from moisture. Due to its high penetrating ability (penetration), anticorrosive is able to fill even narrow gaps. The reason for this is the extremely low surface tension, due to which Rust Stop is characterized by a very low sliding friction value.
According to the data that are given on the official website of the manufacturer (we will talk about existing fakes later), the anticorrosive composition includes:
- Rust remover.
- Rust proofing corrosion inhibitor.
- An ionic converter that strengthens polar bonds in the boundary layer.
- Antioxidant.
- Wetting agent.
- Special bioadditives that ensure the destruction of rust captured by anticorrosive.
- Red dye, facilitating the application of the drug.
Rust Stop is claimed to be free of chemically aggressive solvents, so it can be effectively used to convert and remove rust on items and objects that you often have to touch with your hands. In particular, it is recommended to periodically treat electronic circuit boards, keyholes, electrical switches, outdoor fasteners, etc. with this composition. The drug itself is non-toxic, so there is no need for special protection of the user's hands.
The principle of operation of Rast Stop is based on the consistent implementation of the following functions:
- Penetration into the thickness of rust or scale.
- Humidification of the components located in the zone of action.
- Formation of ionic bonds with the substrate.
- Alignment of the pH value along the thickness of the gap between the workpieces.
- Displacement of loose mass to the surface.
In the course of these actions, as stated in the instructions for use, the surfaces are also lubricated, their heat capacity coefficient increases (including at high operational loads), as well as the absorption capacity improves, as a result of which the noise level also decreases.
Advantages of anticorrosive Rust Stop for automotive vehicles
A feature of the operation of many automotive parts and assemblies is their accelerated wear, which is due to the combined influence of several negative factors - oxidation of surfaces, increased abrasive wear, elevated temperatures, etc. Since in most cases the sequence of appearance and development of these negative processes cannot be established, traditional anticorrosive agents have to be use in combination with lubricating oils. What and how to dilute? And is it necessary?
The original anticorrosive Rust Stop comes in the form of a spray contained in a can, so the product should not be diluted. However, unlicensed fakes for this drug are often produced in the form of a concentrate (by the way, it is recommended to apply it with a brush, which increases the unevenness of the layer and leads to increased consumption of the drug). If the diluent is needed only to reduce the viscosity, then it is better to heat the original composition, and then use the sprayer.
The developer strongly recommends not to use Rust Stop in combination with other drugs (especially from other companies, since the additives in such products can not only reduce the effectiveness of the anticorrosive agent, but also lead to the opposite result).
