Disassemble/assemble the fork of your Velobecane electric bike. – Velobekan – Electric bicycle
To get started, you need the following tools.
Hexagon 6 mm.
Hexagon 5 mm.
36 wrench or pliers.
The first thing to do is remove the mudguard and brake caliper.
You will need a 5mm Allen key for the mudguard.
Leave the mudguard on the bike for now. The brake caliper can be removed with a 5mm Allen key.
Then we remove the screw holding the fork with a 6mm hex wrench. Unscrew a little and then remove the stem.
We simply unscrew the nut with pliers or an open-end wrench.
After loosening the nut, the fork and splash guard can be removed.
We come to disassemble the wheel of our electric bike. You now have the fork, spacer, and ball bearing at the top.
At the bottom you have a bottom ball bearing with a bottom seal.
To assemble a new fork, you must first clean the cups. We return the cups up and down, then put the bearings. We just put a stamp. on the fork we put the lower bearing upside down (the fork will be placed from below). We come to install the bearing and reinstall the fork, tighten the nut again, tighten it until the fork remains in the frame of your bike, and we came up to tighten it with pliers or a wrench.
Putting together a ring with a polarizer and a lock nut (don't forget the lamp). we can put the front wheel back (we can put the stock back). With a notch in front of it, we come to fully tighten the wheel.
Now we're going to come in and put the brake caliper back on.
You must replace the two small screws and tighten them. To adjust steering power, remove the stem and locknut.
To adjust the steering wheel juice, we remove everything, check that it cannot be overtightened, put the lock nut in place and tighten it very tightly.
Raise the stem and tighten it with a 6mm hex wrench, adjust the center, which is straight, and fully tighten the screw.
Your fork has been changed. If we see any play on the stem, it will be necessary to remove the stem, lock nut and polarizer. We tighten the nut at the bottom and it will be necessary to put the elements back more tightly.
