Reflections… The nationwide educational campaign of the Polish Red Cross to improve road safety has reached Katowice. On Thursday, its organizers met with students of elementary school No. 15.

About 300 children from elementary grades gathered in the gym and received a symbol of the action - a reflective Finley bear. In the coming months, children across the country will receive a total of about 100 benefits. such reflectors that will allow them to move safely on the roads.

Finley Bear will go to all elementary schools and make sure that children not only know how to safely cross the road, walk on the side of the road, but also run around the yard, play in the water or walk in the mountains. A special educational program developed by specialists will help him in this. A website has also been created for the teddy bear Finli (www.finli.pl), where information, games, games and competitions will be published, which will introduce the child to the rules of the road in an interesting way.

This action can reduce the number of accidents involving children. The terrible state of safety – not just for the little ones – is evidenced by the fact that 10 people have died in traffic accidents over the past 66 years. person, i.e. an average of 18 people per day. Poland ranks third in the infamous ranking of European countries with the highest number of such accidents. Another problem is the low percentage of people able to provide first aid to their victims. Unfortunately, this has a huge impact on the increase in the number of fatal accidents.

By organizing an action with the participation of the bear Finley, the Polish Red Cross relies on one of its statutory tasks, which is to promote the principles of first aid among the population. To this end, it conducts trainings and demonstrations for various groups of recipients. The partner of the PKK in carrying out the campaign is the insurance company FinLife SA, from which the name of the project's mascot came from.
