RDC - Roll Stability Control

To reduce the risk of rollover, the Volvo SUV is equipped with an active system that can instantly control stability, called RSC (Roll Stability Control). The system uses a gyro sensor to determine the vehicle's speed and roll angle, and based on this information, the final angle and the resulting rollover risk are calculated.

If the calculated angle is so great that there is a clear risk of the vehicle overturning, the DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control) stability control is activated. DSTC reduces engine power output and selectively brakes one or more wheels as needed until stability is restored.

This helps to reduce the risk of rollover accidents resulting from extreme maneuvers.
