Lamborghini achieves global growth

The three macro regions where Lamborghini has a presence saw double-digit growth: Americas (+14%), Asia-Pacific (+14%) and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa, +12%). The company maintains a fairly balanced distribution among them in global volumes, which is 35%, 27% and 39% respectively. In terms of individual markets, the US remained in first place with 2,472 units, up 11%, while China moved into second place with 935 units, up 55%. It was followed by Germany with 706 units, up 16%, and the UK, with 564 units, up 9%. The performance of Lamborghini's domestic market in Italy also increased, with a total of 359 vehicles delivered, representing an increase of 3%.

The Lamborghini Urus was a complete success

As for the models, they continued to enjoy success: 5,021 units were delivered. It was followed by the V10-powered Huracan, which saw sales rise significantly to 2,586 thanks to the strong momentum of the Huracán STO. In addition, 798 Aventadors (model V12) were delivered worldwide.

The brand plans to release 4 new models in 2022.

The outlook for sales in the new year remains positive, thanks to a significant backlog of orders that already covers nearly all planned production in 2022. Lamborghini plans to introduce four new products over the next 12 months.

Winkelmann added: “We are stronger than ever as we prepare to enter a period of profound transformation and move towards an even more sustainable future. In 2022, we will do our best to build on our current performance and prepare for the arrival of our future hybrid range in 2023.”

What Lamborghini models have launched in 2021?

Three new products were released in 2021: Huracán STO - Super Trofeo Omologata, a road-legal model inspired by the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and GT3 EVO racing cars; Aventador Ultimate, the latest series of the Aventador model; and an Orthodox icon with cutting-edge design and technology, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Countach.

Lamborghini on the road to electrification

Apart from these models, in 2021 Lamborghini also presented its future electrification strategy. Over 1,500 billion euros will be spent over four years on investments that will define the era when Lamborghini launches its first production hybrid model in 2023 and electrifies its entire range by the end of 2024 with a goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 50% from 2025 . Subsequently, a fourth all-electric model would be added to the lineup in the second half of the decade.
