La Clio RS Monaco GP it makes the driver feel special because, in addition to driving very fast, this is a limited edition of 750 units (of which only 250 are destined for Italy) that will go down in history just like its ancestors.

Versatility is good too: Despite the sports suspension, which is stiff on uneven roads, it can be used every day without sacrificing too much comfort, thanks to the 5 doors, elastic motor and EDC automatic dual-clutch transmission.

La Renault Clio RS Monaco GP based on the Clio RS: 1.6-liter supercharged engine mated to automatic transmission with dual clutch 6-speed with a paddle on the handlebars.

Additionally, Cleolike most of his competitors, he lost turbo and this is not available even with a manual transmission: a dramatic change.

Il driving pleasure will be as always?

We already had the opportunity to try this in March, but it's time to do more thorough test.

For this reason, we went back in time and collected from the first to the last all of its ancestors.

La Clio 2.0 16V Williams, Clio 2.0 16V RS 182 и Clio RS F1 team they accompanied Monaco GP in this special test. And they made us feel the thrill of driving.

city

Version c test it Renault Clio RS Monaco GP – equippedRS packagewhich includes the frame cup and alloy wheels 18 ”- it was not designed for use mainly in the city, where cobblestones and especially tram tracks make themselves felt.

For those who prefer a little more comfort at the expense of less sporty finish, can be avoidedRS package what does it do hot hatch even more extreme, even if on Clio RS Monaco GP this is one of those options that you give up with great effort.

Installation separately compared to previous versions Clio RS Monaco GP it has a more comfortable interior, two additional doors and double clutch EDC gearbox, which will not be as smooth as a classic automatic with a torque converter, but will provide an imperceptible engine operation.

And, most importantly, it helps to avoid fatigue of the left leg during repeated driving off the road.

The turbocharged engine torque at low revs is good, allowing you to shoot spiritedly without pressing the gears, and the rear-view parking camera (optional) is very useful given the poor rear visibility.

Outside the city

Take a road full of twisty turns and Renault Clio RS Monaco GP it will give you great satisfaction.

First of all, thanks to his turbo enginethat moves smoothly throughout the rev range without losing its excitement at high revs.

Getting out of tight corners at high speed is child's play thanks to the short gear ratios and full traction. 1.6 turbo which distributes 240 Nm maximum torque at 1.750 rpm, while at the entrance to the corners, the rear is one of the reactive: when you release the throttle suddenly, you may find yourself having to turn back to get back into the car, much to the satisfaction of the smartest.

Is everything perfect then?

Not really, because the dual-clutch transmission as soon as we started Clio RS Monaco GPwe didn't think he was the fastest.

Not so much in gear shifting, which happens very quickly, but in tracking the driver's actions: since pressing a button paddle when gear transmission too much time passes.

Switch to mode "Kinds of sports" things are going better, but this is still not what we wanted.

For best results, select Race mode while also excluding i. traction control system e stability.

Va Bene on the roadbut not on roads open to traffic.

The change is fast this time, and the engine's malice disappears without brakes, leaving pilot pleasure (and risk) to tame little french sportswoman without any electronic help.

The lack of a manual transmission could make purists turn up their noses, because with the dual-clutch everything seems too simple: with a different CleoFrom Williams (over 20) to the penultimate RS, you have to use the gearbox wisely to keep the engine running at the right speed, which will certainly make driving more fun.

But even more demanding: going fast with them is much more difficult. Steering is not bad in terms of progression, even if you wanted more communication.

шосе

La Clio RS Monaco GP of course notauto more suitable for grinding kilometers in motorway, but - in general - being sports you cannot complain as long as the asphalt is in good condition.

Lo sports exhaust does not interfere with the standard driving mode and soundproofing compared to Cleo pumped older, it's on a different level.

Like all versions Cleo, Same RS Monaco GP it is susceptible to aerodynamic hiss at high speeds.

Il enginewith powerful torque and an automatic transmission, it is always ready when you want to overtake.
