Renault Espace Executive Energy 225 EDC, luxury minivan – Road Test
The "business" version of Espace is luxurious and well finished. The petrol and EDC gearbox are very good, but if you are driving for many kilometers it is better to opt for diesel.

If you are interested in seven-seater vehicles and are looking for a "premium" car that also combines large capacity with a very sophisticated design, you cannot help but consider the new Renault Espace Executive... The plot version is ours road test is Energy TCe 225 EDC, that is, one that is equipped with a 1.8 gasoline engine with 225 hp. (the same one used in the Megane RS) has quite rich equipment and an extremely luxurious interior. Let's find out together advantages and disadvantages.
city
Length 4,86 meters Renault Espace they clearly do not make maneuvers very easy. Encumbrances are especially felt in the strait. But I must say that behind the wheel there is 4Control gives the car unexpected agility (even with a simple turn) and makes it pleasant to use even in city walls. Then, of course, you always need to find a lot of space to park it. 7-speed EDC transmission combined with a 225 hp petrol engine. - This is good.
Outside the city
The further you move away from chaos, the more the real strengths of this machine become apparent. Despite its size and weight, the Espace rides very well. Installation it is balanced and 4Control proves to be a panacea even while driving. Weight and dimensions are felt less and less, and the engine provides excellent traction, even along the entire curve; perhaps I do not want to recommend it to those who travel many km, given the consumption (on average, it is about 8 l / 100 km).
шосе
La Executive area it is the perfect vehicle for traveling. It is very comfortable and welcoming. It is well soundproofed and thanks to the Multisense system, it allows you to customize the environment (and not only: the reaction of the engine, gearbox, steering wheel, suspension) in accordance with personal taste and mood. You can also get off the highway from consumption under 8l / 100km while maintaining a constant speed.
Life on board
He travels to living room in 5. In 7, on the other hand, it is clearly necessary to sacrifice a little space: it is necessary to move the rear sofa forward and take advantage of the space reserved for those who sit in the back, which is not bad for everyone. Perhaps the only drawback is the reduced roof height, especially for those who sit in the back and exceed eighty meters; but on the other hand, this is the price to pay for an unusual design compared to a "traditional" 7-seater.
Price and costs
La Renault Espace Executive this is obvious version top of the range, especially reserved for the business world. The cost of the version of our road test 46.200 euro and offers, among others, 19-inch diamond alloy wheels, sand gray leather upholstery with brown side stripes, R-Link2 compatible with Android and Apple, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, safety glasses, Bose audio system, electric sunroof, parking sensors with parking camera, hands-free opening and closing of the trunk and a steering wheel in genuine Nappa leather. Unfortunately, adaptive cruise control (available for a fee) is not standard.
safety
On the security front on the new Executive area we find, among others, active emergency braking, a blind viewing angle sensor, start-off assistance and the Visio system (traffic sign recognition and lane departure warning). Renault Espace received 5 stars in EuroNCAP crash tests.
