For two years, Fisker threatened the first solid electrolyte battery vehicle on the market. And ... he left. On the other hand, Rivian, a maker of electric vans, pickup trucks, and SUVs, has just started looking for solid-state battery people.

One of the readers of the Electrek portal drew attention to the fact that the manufacturer's website contains job advertisements for people involved in the production of solid electrolyte elements, including the leader of such a team. He will work with partners to establish a solid line and timeline for its implementation.

The industry believes that solid electrolyte cells will not become popular until the second half of the decade.... Even QuantumScape, which is considered one of the most advanced in the development of non-liquid electrolytes, speaks of the possibility of mass production no earlier than 2024, since the research of the elements has not yet been completed.

Rivian looks ahead. Tesla has captured one of the industry leaders in artificial intelligence image analysis (Slovak origin Andriy Karpati). Rivian would probably like to have a competent team of solid state equipment specialists when they become widely used. It doesn't matter if they are from QuantumScape, Solid Power or maybe a more traditional manufacturer.

Rivian has become recognizable for its R1S SUVs and R1T pickup truck, but the company is now focused on mass-producing electric vans for Amazon.
