Rivian will launch a compact electric car in Europe after the arrival of its R1T pickup

Rivian has confirmed that it plans to release products that will satisfy the tastes of Chinese and European consumers.

Electric car manufacturers are seeking to expand in different markets, and have chosen Europe as a territory with potential for the implementation of this type of vehicle, which is why Rivian announced the arrival of new electric models to the European continent after release their models and R1T.

The news comes days after pricing was announced in the United States for the R1T, the firm's electric pickup truck, in addition to its SUV version, the R1S. The starting price for the pickup truck is $67,500-70,000, and the SUV version is $XNUMX.

RJ Scaringe, CEO of Rivian, is now focused on another objective, as he assures that, although the launch of the Rivian R1T and R1S in Europe will take place during 2022, the products that will really determine the presence of the American manufacturer in the European continent, will be the ones that arrive later, and that, in addition, presumably will be produced in Rivian's own factories in Europe.

However, Rivian is aiming to expand its presence not only in Europe, but also in China, a country that it will seek to conquer with its products, although this task will not be easy, since this is the country where electric vehicles have the largest presence.

Regarding the new models that arrive in Europe and China from 2022, Rivian has said that they will be strongly based on the image worn by the first two models of the firm, the Rivian R1T and R1S. These future smaller models are expected to share key components with the pick-up and the SUV, and RJ Scaringe himself commented that "they will fit very well in some of those other markets, in particular China".
