According to IDTechEX, the light electric vehicle market is expected to be dominated by electric scooters in 2026, followed by three- and four-wheeled electric scooters. Electric bikes are also expected to maintain strong sales.

In general, IDTechEx analysis identifies 8 categories of equipment: golf carts, motorcycles, cars for people with disabilities, microcars, etc., for which it estimates the dynamics of sales and turnover in the period from 2016 to 2026. According to IDTechEX, microcars will be especially popular in developing countries and will become an affordable transition offer between a bicycle and a car.
