Harley-Davidson breaks prices for its electric motorcycle with LiveWire ONE

Harley-Davidson's new electric brand unveiled the LiveWire ONE on Thursday July 8th, its very first electric motorcycle. Many of the aesthetic codes of the first LiveWire are much more affordable than its predecessor.

Launched in 2019, LiveWire hasn't had much success for the American brand. Harley-Davidson's first electric motorcycle to be praised for its performance and styling wasn't particularly convincing. This is too high a selling price for a model aimed primarily at the younger generation.

Well aware of the problem, the American manufacturer is making amends with the new LiveWire ONE, an electric motorcycle with styling and performance that closely matches the original Livewire. The most noticeable difference is the price. Although the first LiveWire on the US market was priced at $ 29, this new version is available starting at $ 21.... Pricing for the French market is not yet known, but we estimate the bike will cost around € 25 compared to € 000 for the Livewire currently offered by Harley.

235 km of autonomy in the urban cycle

In terms of features and performance, the Livewire ONE is virtually indistinguishable from the original model. The rechargeable battery with a capacity of 15,5 kWh allows you to travel up to 235 kilometers in the urban cycle. Engine details have not been disclosed, but this new Livewire appears to use the same 78kW unit as the original model. The latter allows a top speed of 177 km / h.

When it comes to recharging, LiveWire combines AC and DC chargers. When used for fast charging, this allows it to charge from 0 to 80% in about 45 minutes.

At the earliest 2022 in Europe

Introducing its new brand, Harley-Davidson introduces a new way of marketing. Without going to historical dealers, at least initially, LiveWire is banking on online sales. It is currently open in only three US states: California, Texas and New York. The opening for other US states will only happen in the fall.

In international markets, LiveWire ONE will not go on sale until 2022.
