With Klara, VinFast is making a breakthrough in the electric scooter segment.

The Vinfast electric scooter, developed in collaboration with Bosch, is currently limited to the Vietnamese market only.

A young Vietnamese-born car brand founded by Vingroup in 2018, Vinfast sells cars as well as electric scooters. Called Klara, it was featured prominently at the Hanoi Auto Show.

Winfast Clara, which has been on sale in the country for several months, was developed in partnership with Bosch. Providing a top speed of up to 50 km / h, the electric motor is integrated into the rear wheel and develops a power of up to 1200 W. If this may not sound like a lot, it is more than enough for large cities where the speed remains relatively moderate. And because of the traffic density and the hilarious mess it presents.

The under-seat battery is also supplied by Bosch with LG cells. There are two options available: the first with 22.8 Ah with lithium technology and the second with 20 Ah with a conventional lead battery. If the autonomy of the two models is largely the same, the difference will primarily affect the weight of the machine (95 kg for lithium and 116 kg for lead), as well as battery life and speed. ... If 4 hours are enough to charge a lithium battery to 90%, then it will take 8 hours for lead to recover 80% of its capacity. As for the motor, the leading version is also less powerful: only 800 watts.

The Vinfast electric scooter, available in a wide range of colors, is equipped with a 3G chip in a lithium version. This allows the machine to communicate with the user via a smartphone app. In use, you can choose between two driving modes: Eco or Sport. 

So far, it is limited only to the Vietnamese market, the cost of Klara is about 40 million dong, or a little less than 1500 euros. If its marketing in Europe is not announced, it is not impossible, because Vinfast has already announced its intention to launch its cars in the Old Continent. It will probably have to wait a few years. In Vietnam, the production of the first cars of the brand began just a few days ago.
