Developed by a young startup founded by students at the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, this self-balancing system featured on an electric scooter can be adapted to any scooter.

The device invented by Liger Mobility on the prototype electric scooter can be challenging. As shown in the video below, it keeps the car perfectly level even when the driver is not present. In his presentation, the young manufacturer explains that it is also possible to seat a second passenger without the driver having to step on the ground.

If the manufacturer does not provide details on the specifications and launch of the system on its website, its two co-founders, Vikas Poddar (IIT Madras) and Ashutosh Upadhyay, seem to want to offer it as a piece of hardware that can be integrated. in any two-wheeled vehicle. According to them, its price should not exceed 10% of the price of the scooter, while providing real benefits in terms of safety.

It remains to be seen when Liger Mobility will be able to industrialize and market such a system. In any case, the startup isn't the only one interested in the self-balancing two-wheeler market. In Tokyo 2017, Honda unveiled an electric motorcycle concept called the Honda Riding Assist-e based on a similar principle.
