Self-service: Coup triples its electric scooter fleet in Paris

By May, rival CityScoot intends to triple its fleet from 600 to 1700 self-service electric scooters.

Coup, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bosch Group, is expanding its presence in the capital. Six months after launch, the self-service electric scooter system is announcing a major expansion in Paris, where it aims to triple the number of vehicles on offer by the time of sunny days.

With the aim of increasing the number of electric scooters from 600 to 1700, Coup will also expand its operating area to all of Paris from April and to some neighboring municipalities from May. This operation was supposed to allow Coup to catch up with CityScoot, its main rival in the capital.

« After two years of experience in Europe and a service that has been recognized by Parisians since launch, we are now expanding our fleet and scope. By offering more efficient and sustainable mobility, we enable citizens to rediscover freedom and pleasure in their daily commutes. Maureen Houelle, CEO of COUP France, said.

Arrival of Gogoro 2

For the Coup, the fleet expansion will allow the integration of the new Gogoro 2. Fitted with larger wheels, larger mirrors, more comfortable upholstery and a larger boot, it complements the Gogoro 1, 600 of which are now wearing aprons to make travel easier in case of rain or cold.

The app has also been improved: messages are sent in real time, which allows users to be warned about weather conditions. Eventually, they will also be able to choose the model of the electric scooter they want to use.
