Self-replacement of a starter on a VAZ 2107-2105

The starter of VAZ cars of all “classic” models, both 2105 and 2107, is completely the same in device and mounting. So the procedure for replacing it will be identical. I would like to note right away that with all kinds of tools, this device is removed from the car very quickly and easily. Although, in fact, only one key for 13 is enough 🙂

So, the first step is to disconnect the power from the battery. Then we take the 17 key and unscrew two bolts (there may be 3 of them) to the VAZ 2107-2105 gearbox housing.

After this is done, you can gently retract the starter to the right so that it moves away from its seat:

Then we move it a little to the right and turning it with the back side, take it out through the free space, as shown in the photo below:

This should be done until there is free access to the front of it, so that all wires and power terminals can be disconnected without any problems:

As you can see, one wire goes to the retractor relay, and the second to the VAZ 2107-2105 starter itself, and one of them is also attached with a nut. We turn it off and disconnect the plug by pulling it to the side, and you can safely remove the starter out:

If the device needs to be replaced, then we change it to a new one and install it in the reverse order. The starter price for all classic Lada models ranges from 2500 to 4000 rubles, depending on the manufacturer.
