A small used sedan, which after the purchase will not cause any special technical problems, is the dream of a huge army of domestic car owners. The German rating "TUV Report 2021" can help in choosing such a machine.

In Russia, the car market is noticeably poorer than Germany in terms of the number of brands and models represented. However, we still have a lot in common, and German statistics on the operation of mass models of passenger cars is still relevant for us. The German-based "Association for Technical Supervision" (VdTUV) is one of the coolest organizations in Europe, systematically and for decades collecting data in this area.

And she shares them with everyone, annually publishing a unique rating of the reliability of used cars operating on German roads. TUV Report 2021 - the next edition of this rating - covers almost all mass models. But in this case, we are interested in sedans. And not the most expensive. And this means that according to the version of the AvtoVzglyad portal, only cars no larger than the B-class entered the field of view of the TOP-5 most tenacious five-year-old sedans.

The specifics of car operation in Germany is such that a fair part of the mileage falls on autobahns. Long trips along the highway are characteristic of history and many domestic cars, the owners of which “circulate” daily from the sleeping suburbs to the center of the metropolis to work and back. No less popular among the townspeople is the regime in which the car is parked outside the house for the entire working week, and on weekends it is driven around shopping centers and to the country house.

Opel Astra is on the second line of the rating: 8,4% of the owners who turned to the services of servicemen, the average mileage is 79 kilometers.

German TUV gave third place to the mega-popular Skoda Octavia in Russia. Among all the "five-year plans" of this model, 8,8% have ever asked for repairs in their history. But the average mileage of the "Czech" was 95 kilometers.

It is closely followed by the Honda Civic with 9,6% of service calls and 74 kilometers.

In fifth place was a five-year-old Ford Focus, of which there are still plenty of them running around Russia, despite the departure of the brand's passenger car division from the country. 10,3% of breakdowns with a run of 78 kilometers - this is the result of the model.
