Passing the exam in the traffic police externally

Unfortunately, it is now impossible to rent an external license.

In November 2013, many changes in legislation were adopted:

new categories and subcategories of rights have been introduced;
it is allowed to undergo training and pass exams at the traffic police both on mechanical and automatic transmissions;
a ban on passing exams and obtaining a driver's license externally.

However, not everything is so bad and there is every reason to hope that the extern will be returned. Back in March 2014, a bill was submitted to the Duma, according to which it is planned to allow people with disabilities to take the rights externally. Perhaps, comrade deputies will eventually understand that for many, externship is a significant saving of time and money. Also, in view of the vast length of Russia, residents of distant villages and small towns have to travel too far to get to the nearest driving school.

Be that as it may, self-driving training has both positive and negative aspects.

Positive aspects self-learning driving:

flexible schedule - the ability to choose the right time for classes;
choose an instructor yourself;
control your own expenses.

That is, in order to independently take a driving school course, you can purchase an inexpensive brochure with current traffic rules, such literature is full in any kiosk. In addition, there are now a lot of sites on the Internet where you can not only download the rules, but also learn tickets for the exam in the traffic police online. There are also driving simulators.

Another important advantage is that if your father, older brother or friend has his own car, then you can work out your driving skills absolutely free of charge on some wasteland or site: starting off, shifting gears, eight, snake and so on. Fortunately, our country is large and there are enough large and spacious places to travel by car without a license.

You can hire an instructor only to explain and show you how to ride in the city. That is, you will sit behind the wheel not as a worried beginner who does not know where which pedal is, but already with a certain driving experience. If you take the risk of learning how to drive around the city in the car of an older brother or friend, then you can very easily get a fine of 5-15 thousand, and the owner of the car will have to pay as much as 30 thousand for allowing you to drive. The inspector also has a license to teach driving.

When you have fully mastered the program of a standard driving school - theory and practice in full - you need to go to the examination department of the traffic police of your city or district and submit an application for the desire to pass an external driving test. An explanatory note must be attached to the application - why you could not study at school:

your work schedule does not allow you to attend courses;
education at the university;
caring for the sick or the elderly, and so on.

From the department you will be directed to undergo a medical examination. You also need to present your passport indicating the place of registration for residence. You will be assigned a time and place for the exams.

The hardest part is finding a car. The best way out is to rent a car from an instructor; you cannot take exams in your own car or in a friend’s car.

Also, studying on your own, you may miss some innovation that the authorities constantly delight us with. Many examiners are biased towards "self-taught" and will try their best to fail you.

However, if you take a responsible approach to learning and show the examiners that you can get all the necessary knowledge on your own, then there should be no problems with passing.

After paying all the state fees and passing the exams, you will soon receive the coveted driver's license.
