Secret supercar lands: The first RAM 1500 TRX slips unnoticed into Australia as the world's fastest truck prepares to launch

Ram Trucks Australia has started testing the 1500 TRX.

The first instances of the RAM 1500 TRX have slipped into Australia for study and testing as the world's fastest machines approach their local launch.

Billed as the world's fastest banana pickup, the pickup truck is currently being tested at Ram Trucks' Melbourne plant as the brand prepares for a left-hand drive to right-hand drive upgrade for a model that will outperform Australia's favorite vehicles, including the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger Raptor.

That means a new pickup hero is coming to Australia soon: The TRX is powered by the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine found in the Dodge and Jeep Hellcat models, delivering a staggering 522kW and 868Nm of torque.

The technical inspection - essentially to determine exactly what is required to produce right-hand drive models at home - is the next step towards the launch of the car, which is expected to take place in the second half of this year.

In fact, the order books for the world's fastest ute have essentially opened and interest in TRX is showing. In fact, the brand is already accepting orders and deposits despite not yet announcing a price for its halo car.

The big truck needs to redefine the idea of high performance capable of going from 100 to 4.5 km/h in a claimed XNUMX seconds. This is enough for RAM Australia to declare it "the world's fastest, fastest and most powerful production truck".

The TRX also features 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in All-Terrain rubber and an upgraded suspension with a Dana 60 independent front and solid rear axle with Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers.

Ground clearance has been increased by 51mm, ground clearance is now 300mm and wading depth is 813mm. The angles of entry, departure and separation are 30.2, 23.5 and 21.9 degrees, respectively. The maximum payload is 594 kg and the maximum tractive effort with brakes is 3674 kg.
