It's the latest in a series of major automotive milestones, including birthdays for everything from the Bentley brand to the original Mini and the Citroen DS series.

But Vespa has always been special.

The cute scooter was a motorsport star alongside Audrey Hepburn in the 1950s, and Piaggio of Italy uses the "Still Sexy at Sixty" line to celebrate her birthday.

So... Vespa has taken a naughty but sweet stance with a viral marketing program with its XNUMXth scooter.

It says the film is a "modern and highly erotic" interpretation of the Kama Sutra, yet still fun and work-friendly.

It starts with photos from the Vespa's life story and then moves into a photo album with a series of short video clips featuring a couple of models and a scooter. They float on cables and interact on and over the bike in a range of poses that make fun of sex and the scooter.

The program was developed in Britain by New Media Maze, which claims that the connection to the Kama Sutra developed quickly.

“Oddly enough, all of our brainstorming eventually turns into dirty thoughts, and this one was no exception,” says Dave Smith of New Media Maze.

“Pretty quickly we figured out that showing copulation of 60 year old couples wasn’t going to be viral or sexy, so we were forced to come up with something else, and quickly. Everyone had a bit of know-how in the back of a car, but who has ever done that on a scooter?”
