Where to service the car? While it's under warranty, we usually decide to visit an expensive dealer. In the case of multi-year cars, the balance leans towards independent garages. Choosing them, we do not remain deaf to the opinions of other drivers.

Polish auto repair shops can be divided into three groups. The largest of these are independent self-employed companies. The other two are authorized service stations operating at car dealerships of specific brands and chain workshops, working according to the rules set by the major player that brings them together.

ASO services are most often used by owners of young cars. Dealers can even contact the engineers of the car manufacturer they are trading with at any time. This helps in troubleshooting complex failures. Just like the equipment of authorized services. The car warranty is also important. Almost every manufacturer requires regular checks and repairs at an authorized service station for its maintenance. It is true that there is an EU GVO regulation that allows repairs in independent garages without voiding the warranty. But in disputable situations, inspections outside an authorized service station may become an argument for the importer for non-compliance with the car warranty.

Many drivers trust the so-called network services. Usually these are independent companies connected to a network of a certain brand and meeting its requirements. Independent garages also include well-equipped workshops with experienced mechanics. They have something to do, because most of the cars driving around Poland are out of warranty for a long time.

Where do we most often repair a car? Not at an authorized service station, not at the service center closest to the house, but at places checked and recommended by friends. According to a survey conducted among motorists, it turns out that when choosing a garage, we are mainly guided by the word of recommendation.
